November 2007£5,000 Prize Up For Grabs In Scottish Business Idea Competition Start-up businesses in Scotland are reminded to get their entries in for The Business Idea Competition.
The Business Gateway and Scottish Enterprise-backed contest offers a national prize of £5,000 plus £2,500 worth of legal advice for the overall winner, whilst 11 regional winners will also receive £1,000 plus up to £500 worth of legal advice to help them get their business up and running. The competition is open to sole traders, partnerships or limited companies that are aiming to start trading before 31 March 2008. Entrants must be over 16 and be a resident in one of the 12 Business Gateway areas in Scotland. Employees of Scottish Enterprise and Business Gateway are excluded from entering, as are any companies that started trading prior to 15 October 2007.
