Helping Members to Raise their Business Profile

Our latest Masterclass was held at the Redhurst Hotel, Giffnock on the evening of 3rd December on the theme of ‘Raising the Profile of Your Business’.

Featured member was David Young, Business Development Director of local big hitters Cameron Communications, who work throughout Scotland and the UK providing audiovisual and multimedia solutions for conferences and venues. He told us about the impressive portfolio of clients the company has worked with, many of which are household names such as the police forces, a number of local authorities and the Scottish Parliament. They also provided AV solutions to the MOBO awards recently held in Glasgow – a real local success story that has lasted over 50 years so far.

Keynote speaker was Hugh Jackson, Director of MediaCo – one of the UK’s largest online marketing firms. Hugh is recognised as an international expert in the world of digital marketing and he treated us to a really fascinating insight into how to make the most of our online presence and some of the secrets of Search Engine Optimisation – the process by which websites can be tuned to be higher up search engine rankings and encouraging flow of traffic to our sites.  He spoke very eloquently of the business potential – and necessity – of making the most of new advances such as social media, blogging and so on, to maximise the flow of potential customers.

As is now becoming customary, at the end of the evening Hugh was presented with his coveted ERCC crystal clock by President Chamber Vincent Waters.
