Economic ‘Think Tank’

The Chamber’s mantra is that ‘a rising tide lifts all boats’ i.e. that improvements in the general economy will benefit all participants in the economy. With this guiding principle the Chamber brought together a group of prominent local business people to feed their views and concerns concerning the recent economic downturn to the highest echelons of the Council.

The Chamber is working hard to ensure that the views of the Think Tank help to shape changes to the Local Plan to ensure that opportunities for local businesses, local developments and particularly projects of strategic importance are maximised. This ‘Think Tank’ has met with a large delegation from the Council including the Chief Executive and the Leader and, to their credit, they are listening hard and await the detailed plans with interest.
