Children’s Panel in East Renfrewshire

The Area Support Team assists and supports the volunteers who make up the Children’s Panel in East Renfrewshire, helping them make the best possible decisions for children and young people. Just now there are opportunities to join this small, dynamic team.

We are recruiting for the role of Area Convener for East Renfrewshire. This is an exciting volunteer opportunity to lead and provide direction to the Area Support Team.

The role includes:

  • day to day oversight and management of the Area Support Team including playing a key role in leading recruitment, training and support for volunteer Panel Members at a local level
  • driving change at a local level including continually looking at opportunities to ensure the best decisions are being made with and for children and young people attending children’s hearings.
  • building effective relationships with the local Panel Member community and partner organisations

We are also looking for Panel Practice Advisors (PPAs). PPAs Panel Practice Advisors (PPAs) play a critical role within Area Support Teams. They also regularly observe panel member practice within children’s hearings, to provide quality assurance, and also lead on panel member recruitment.

Skills and experience in monitoring, giving constructive feedback and coaching would be invaluable in this role.
