Commenting on the news that the Prime Minister could face a vote of no confidence, Liz Cameron OBE, Director & Chief Executive, Scottish Chambers of Commerce, said:
“Today, another Brexit-induced burden has been added to the shoulders of businesses, as the Prime Minister faces a vote of confidence in her leadership.
“The eyes of the world are on the UK to make serious progress on what our future relationship with the European Union will look like. Continued delays and political machinations will only cause economic strain. Inaction from Westminster politicians will not be judged favourably – now or in the future – as the livelihoods of millions are at stake.
“Two years on, businesses are frustrated enough with this political saga. It is high time that politicians prioritise the economic needs of the nation over their political agendas.”
