Scottish Government Update – Corona Virus (COVID-19)

19/3/2020

As the Scottish Government’s focus on the economic impact of Covid-19 continues, we will be providing regular bulletins to signpost you to the latest sources of information. We hope that you will find this useful and will share with your networks where appropriate.

As we notified earlier, a new Q&A on rates reliefs and grants was published today.  This is a live page and we will continue to keep it updated as required.  It follows yesterday’s announcement of a £2.2 billion package to support Scottish business.

Deputy First Minister John Swinney has updated Parliament on the decision to close schools https://news.gov.scot/news/update-on-school-closures-and-exams.    His full speech is available here.

This is a fast-moving situation and we are working hard to expand the information available.  The findbusinesssupport.gov.scot website is updated regularly in relation to Covid-19 (24/7).  There is also a separate HMRC helpline on tax issues at 0800 015 9559.

Updates on public health advice for coronavirus can be found on the NHS Inform website.
